Electrical Cable Engineer

We are looking for an Electrical Cable Engineer to oversee the technical aspects of cable engineering projects, ensure compliance with standards and specifications, and contribute to the overall success of offshore wind projects.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the production of deliverables, including but not limited to engineering support to the Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports, and various third-party submissions,
• Sign and issue technical documentation as the originator, ensuring personal accountability for its accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with direct reports to establish and monitor performance requirements, offering daily guidance and support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and legal requirements throughout project execution.
• Serving as the primary representative of the Company in meetings and correspondence with Clients, Subcontractors, and third parties.
• Assist the Principal Engineer and Project Engineering Manager in coordinating engineering efforts to ensure effective project delivery.
• Maintain full traceability of the technical development of the assigned scope throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support to local tendering teams during the bidding process.
• Familiarise oneself with Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes and key commodity strategies to support project objectives.
• Assist Senior/Lead Engineers in conducting project risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Participate in the analysis, design, and engineering activities associated with project works, including undertaking and verifying designs.
• Conduct design and detailing activities in adherence to industry codes, standards, design, guides, client specifications, and scopes of work,

• Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment essential for project success.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, facilitating effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
• Ability to effectively prioritise workload, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Proficient in supporting interfaces within a project structure, including coordination with other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, and clients.
• Proven ability to work within a designated time and budget constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Dedication to continuing professional development, ensuring ongoing growth and proficiency in relevant areas.
• Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of HV cables, showcasing competence in handling high-voltage cable systems.
• Sound understanding of FO (Fiber Optic) cable tests, demonstrating proficiency in conducting and interpreting tests related to fiber optic cables.
• Willingness and readiness to travel for site visits as required by project demands.
